Khaby Lame was born on March 9, 2000 in Senegal. When he was only one year old, his family immigrated to Chivasso, Italy, and moved into public housing.

In high school, Khaby played soccer and basketball. After graduation, he started working as a CNC machine operator in a digital equipment company. The young man was living a normal life until he was fired in March 2020.
Instead of looking for a new job, as his father demanded, Khaby moved back in with his parents and started creating humorous videos on the TikTok app.

At the beginning of his career as a TikTokeur, the content, which he made, was not much different from most popular bloggers. Moreover, he published his short videos in Italian or with Italian subtitles.
